About this deal
The metal bracelet that is on has a deployant clasp featuring a dual-side button release which makes taking it on and off a breeze. Seiko 5 SNK793 Specifications This watch is the ultimate testament to the fact that affordable does not have to equal ”bad” or ”low quality”. The watch is simple but works. It is very straightforward and simply a nice watch.
Then on the plus side there is the Lume, which is excellent as expected from a Seiko. It surely serves one well through the wee hours of the night. It has wonderful wrist presence with that eyecatching blue dial...People just stare at it because it's so legible, they can read the time from several feet away. The bracelet of this watch has pressed metal links. These are light and feel rattly. The best way to identify an affordable watch is by feeling its bracelet, and this is true even for this watch. Other than the different Day languages and the small print on the dial, there is no difference (either cosmetic or mechanical) between the version of this watch that are manufactured in Japan and those that are not.
In 2020, Seiko incorporated the 5 Sports series into the Seiko 5 collection. The collection thus comprises the Sports, Suits, Street, Specialist, and Sense series in addition to classic Seiko 5 models. While the Sports line mostly offers diving and pilot's watches, you'll find some colorful, stainless steel diving watches in the Suits line as well. The Seiko Sense and Street series are home to playful, multicolored designs. Lastly, the Specialist line features diving watches made of stainless steel, some of which have a bronze or golden exterior. Unlike many automatic watches, this model comes with a Seconds-Stop functionwhich allows the wearer to completely halt the movement within the watch. That being said, the light blue dial color isn’t necessarily my cup of tea. For example, if it came down to this exact style of case and bracelet, I prefer the green dial on the SRPD75 / SBSA019. It is equipped with a striking blue dial with a sunburst finish that catches the light beautifully. The dial is navy/midnight blue but changes color depending on how the light hits it. A majority of the "Seiko 5" watches have the automatic 7S26B "21 Jewel" movement (like the "SNK807K2") but I wanted to go with the Japanese made version. After reading a lot about the "7S26 vs. 7S36" movements on the net, it's hard to say if the average consumer will ever know the difference. Compared to the very similar half-priced SNK807K2, I prefer the SNZG11J1 model because:
The mechanism within the watch is 4R36 automatic movement which is built in house and the calibre is comprised of 24 Jewels and a 41 hour power reserve. Overall, this Milanese bracelet is very fluid and flexible. While counterintuitive, I found the heft made it more comfortable to wear and provided the feeling of having a substantial and well-built timepiece when on the wrist. The mechanical watches in the Seiko 5 collection have been enchanting watch lovers around the world since the early 1960s. It is one of the best-selling automatic watch lines worldwide and has always been aimed at sporty watch enthusiasts who are young at heart. Since the clasp is a slide clasp, it can be set to pretty much any length. Yet, it is not so easy to set that it can be done “on the fly.” You will likely set this once and not touch it again, seeing as how it requires a good amount of strength to close the clasp into the final position. The Seiko SNK793 is one of Seiko’s most affordable automatic watches in the ”5” collection. But despite this, its price tag gives you extremely great value.Indeed, both the bright dial tone and intricate texture make this a very unique watch, even among its peers. You can get a great sense of the dial’s texture in the image below. The dimensions of the Seiko 5 Sports case are well documented particularly because they drew so much inspiration from its beloved predecessor, the SKX. Nevertheless, it’s still worthwhile to list them: The Seiko 5 "Military" are among the most sought-after sports watches from the Japanese watch manufacturer. The design of these automatic watches resemble field and pilot's watches. For over 50 years, Seiko 5 Sports has delivered consistently high levels of reliability, durability, performance and value, endearing them to lovers of mechanical watches worldwide. Today, with a new design, this much-loved timepiece is re-born. The watch has 30-meter water resistance. This essentially means it can handle some water splashes, but it should not be submerged in water.
This SRPE77 is sold on a stainless steel mesh or “shark mesh” band. While the bracelet is on the heavier side, the heft is not uncomfortable – it also balances out the weight of the watch head very well. This timepiece is powered by an automatic 21 jewel movement. The caliber used in particular is a Seiko exclusive 7S26 which hasprovided reliable timekeeping for Seiko watches over the years. 21 jewels work individually inside the piece to help keep the time steady as they help reduce friction and wear. This watch has a water resistance of 30 metres, making it suitable for light splashes. Key Features: Seiko 7S26 Calibre The bracelet has an 18mm lug width, and here, there are countless different replacement straps to choose from. Stainless steel case and bracelet. The case measures 40 mm in diameter. A three-fold clasp with push-button release secures the bracelet. By this point, I’ve had the chance to become familiar with a number of different styles within the Seiko 5 Sports family. More specifically, I’ve worn other watches within the Suits collection (same case and bracelet) for weeks on end.
NEW SEIKO 5 SPORTS ‘STEALTH’
There’s not much to complain about when it comes to the finishing of the case. In fact, the combination of both brushed and polished elements is not something we expect from a watch at this price.
